FAQ
Materials & Craftsmanship
What is Pedalstal made of?
Pedalstal is a wooden bike rack for Brompton and other folding bikes, handcrafted from solid pine wood sourced from New Zealand. Built using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, it’s both strong and beautiful — designed to be part of your home.
Where is Pedalstal made?
Every Pedalstal is designed in Singapore and crafted by our skilled woodcrafter in China. It’s real furniture — not mass-produced plastic or metal.
What is traditional mortise and tenon joinery?
It’s a classic woodworking technique used for centuries in high-quality furniture. A “tenon” (tongue) is cut at the end of one wood piece and fitted tightly into a “mortise” (slot) in another piece.
This creates a strong, interlocking joint — no screws or metal hardware needed.
We use this method in every Pedalstal because it’s:
– Structurally solid for supporting bikes
– Visually clean, with no exposed bolts or fasteners
– Timeless — the kind of craftsmanship that lasts for years
It’s part of what makes Pedalstal more than just a rack — it’s furniture for your foldie.
Is it suitable for small homes or HDBs?
Yes — Pedalstal is a space-saving bike storage solution perfect for HDB flats, compact apartments, or entryways. Its small footprint and elegant look make it ideal for tight or stylish spaces.
Is Pedalstal a new product?
Pedalstal is an original design created to meet the needs of folding bike owners looking for stylish, functional storage.
While the brand is relatively new, we’re not starting from zero. We began by selling on Carousell, where we built a community of happy customers who loved our handcrafted racks.
Now, we’re expanding our reach through our website and other channels — continuing to deliver quality and care with every Pedalstal.

Compatibility & Function
What bikes is Pedalstal compatible with?
Pedalstal is designed to fit popular folding bikes such as Brompton, Birdy, 3Sixty, Royale, and similar models.
Because folding bikes come in various sizes and shapes, we also offer custom size adjustments to perfectly fit your specific bike model.
Feel free to chat with us via Instagram, WhatsApp, or email to discuss your bike and get expert advice before ordering.
Is Pedalstal a bike stand or a shelf?
Both — it's a bike stand for folding bicycles that doubles as a bike display shelf for home. It secures your bike while elevating your space.
Can I stack multiple Pedalstals if I have more than one bike?
Yes! You can stack up to 3 Pedalstals vertically.
It’s stable due to the natural friction of wood and weight distribution.
We recommend placing on level flooring. If stacking on smooth floors (like tiles), we can include anti-slip pads on request.
Does it require any assembly or installation?
No assembly or installation needed.
Pedalstal comes fully assembled — just unbox and set it down.
Indoor & Outdoor Use
Can I use Pedalstal outdoors?
You can, but we don’t recommend it.
Pedalstal is finished like indoor furniture and made from natural solid pine wood. Prolonged exposure to rain, sun, or humidity may cause it to warp, crack, or fade.
If using outdoors, it must be in a fully sheltered and dry area.
Note: Our warranty does not cover weather-related damage.
Is Pedalstal waterproof or water-resistant?
Pedalstal is not waterproof, but it is coated with a finish that offers light moisture resistance (similar to most wooden furniture).
It’s fine for damp bike wheels — but wipe off any excess moisture promptly and avoid pooling water or high-humidity zones.
Shipping & Packaging
Do you ship outside Singapore?
Yes! While our primary market is Singapore, we do ship internationally. Reach out and we’ll do our best to arrange it. No promises!
What are your shipping rates?
Singapore: Free Shipping | Made to Order (Ships 1 month after 25th)
International: Contact us to enquire
How is Pedalstal packaged for shipping?
Each Pedalstal is carefully packed to ensure it arrives safely, using three layers of protection:
- Inner styrofoam for shock absorption
- High-density cardboard wrap
- Reinforced wooden planks on the outside
To open the package, you’ll need a hammer or crowbar (or the back of a claw hammer) to pry open the wooden planks — there are no screws, just secure nails for strength during transit.
If you're unsure how to unbox it, we're happy to guide you step by step.
Exchange & Warranty
Can I exchange or return my Pedalstal?
No — because each rack is made to order, we do not accept exchanges or returns.
Please check measurements and compatibility with us before ordering — we're happy to help.
Is there a warranty?
Yes — we offer a lifetime structural warranty for every Pedalstal.
It covers:
- Build quality
- Structural failure due to craftsmanship
It does not cover:
- Natural variations in wood tone or grain
- Minor surface imperfections (as it’s handcrafted)
- Wear and tear
- Outdoor or moisture damage
- Improper use or accidents
Each Pedalstal is unique — small marks or colour differences are normal and part of its handcrafted charm.
About Pedalstal
What is Pedalstal?
Pedalstal is a handcrafted wooden bike rack made for folding bikes. Designed to elevate your ride and complement your home, it’s the first of its kind — bike storage that looks like furniture.
Why is it called “Pedalstal”?
It’s a pun — “pedal” + “pedestal”. Because your foldie deserves to be displayed, not hidden.
Who’s behind Pedalstal?
We’re Quanda and Cass, a husband-and-wife duo based in Singapore. When we couldn’t find a beautiful, compact storage solution for our Bromptons, we decided to design one. That’s how Pedalstal was born.
